我们可以有三种方法：
1）Dollar cost averaging
每次$550，购得486股（183+110+55+138），成本=$4.53
2）Share averaging
每次100股，购得400股，成本=$5.50
3）Conditional Dollar averaging （Delay if price too high)
设$7，为price too high
每次$550，购得569股，成本=$3.87
3-1）March：183股 ($550)
3-2）April：110股 ($550)
3-3）May：Skip due to high price
3-4）June：275股 ($550+$550)

可靠点的实在烦了整天去修车了

比较aggressive的另有一种方法：
4）High Frequency Conditional Dollar averaging （Sell 50% if price too high)
设$7，为price too high
每次$550，购得664股，成本=$3.32
4-1）March：183股（$550/3）
4-2）April：110股（$550/5)
4-3）May：Sold 141股，价格$7，得$987 (卖50%，141股，余下142股）
4-4）June：522股（275+247）（$550+$550+$987)
最终结果=664股（522股6月新购+142股库存）

设$7，为price not attractive
设$9，为price too high
每次$550，购得734股，成本=$3.00
5-1）March：183股（$550/3）
5-2）April：110股（$550/5)
5-3）May：Sold 141股，价格$9，得$1269 (卖50%，141股，余下142股）
5-4）June：592股（275+317）（$550+$550+$1269)
最终结果=734股（592股6月新购+142股库存）

好贴，忍不住冒泡一下
我觉得1）2）就够了
3）以后假定你知道7块是合理价位，其实这是一个很大的假定，除非你有很多信息量，
否则这个是没有道理的。
Averaging本身就是因为很多不确定，所以才多次averaging.
3）以后在我看来是和averaging背道而驰的，或者说是画蛇添足。
你都假定合理价位是7了，还averaging什么呢

但是对于401K，大概可以投机一下。

其实对个股来说，Dollar Cost Averaging，也是很危险的。

may not work for 401k, because once you sell a fund in 401k, usually you are
not allowed to buy it back within 3 months. then, high frequency is not
applicable.

My limit is 1 month and I have a few similar funds to buy, i.e., I can sell
this fund today and buy a similar other fund tomorrow.
BTW, I think this strategy works best for a relative stable or range market
with some reasonable oscillations. In this case, you can probably easily
spot the lows, not too attractive prices or too high prices. For a one-sided
up or down market, this will not work. If the price does not bounce back,
you lose money any way. If it goes up without reasonable pullback, you lose
the opportunity to add more shares. After all, it is hard to say if it will
be a range or one-sided up or down market in the FUTURE.

08年如果投到了citi，aig，雷曼这种上，再avg也白搭。
