收到一个小的private teaching college的offer,Provost签的合同里有这么一段话，
正常吗？“I am sure you understand that no implication is intended that
tenure can be guaranteed even though performance is satisfactory.In common
with all institutions of higher learning, XXX College reserves the option
not to renew the appointment of a non-tenured faculty member, with due
notice, in order for institutional flexibility in meeting changing needs and
demands.”
大家帮忙看看这段话在合同里正常吗？为什么performance is satisfactory也不能
gurarteen tenure? tenure不是应该不受学校budget之类的影响吗？我看完这段话觉得
这个学校的tenure人为的因素很多啊，都不敢签了。
