Increase of H1B prevailing wage# Immigration - 落地生根

I noticed there was a huge jump in the H1B prevailing wage back in 2008,
anyone knows what happened? I don't recall hearing any discussions on this.
I checked the numbers only because someone posted its link on the forum
today. At Cambridge, MA, in the field of physics:
before 6/2008: ~39k
after 6/2008: ~63k
Obviously, neither university at Cambridge is going to sponsor H1B for
postdocs any more, because it is hard to imagine a salary over 63k here. I
guess the road H1B -> green card is intentio
