最近在处理401k limit的问题，现在公司 100% match, up to 6% of your pay.
具体操作的时候是按paycheck来的，
每张paycheck上的contribution,得到的match up to 6% of that paycheck,
不contribute就没有match. 这都没问题.
有true-up match-如果max 今年的18000 contribution，公司会match basepay*6%，就
是2017年能拿到最多的value.
我是年中进公司的，跟HR confirm了这样true-up match算下来只要我max今年的18000
contribution，我也可以拿到2017年还没进公司那部分的company match...但这个我觉
得不make sense，有其他公司也这样操作吗？

你可以存18000没问题。但公司match部分就是你工资的6%，严格说你年薪一半的6%。和
你存满不存满没关系

6%是你paycheck的6%, 譬如工資10萬, 但是當年收入2萬(譬如最後兩個月才入職), 那6
%的基數是2萬...

各个公司有自己的match方法。公司match，不是必须基于你的工资的。
你跟自己HR确认，网上别人，根本不知道你公司怎么实行就信口开河你也敢信？

give you some examples so you can understand
annual salary $120,000, monthly pay $10,000, you join your company on 7/1
compensation of your first year $60,000 so max company match $3,600
somehow you decide to max out your contribution from Jul to Sept, that is $6
,000/month, $18,000 total
for these three months you get company match $600 x 3
for the next three months no company match because of $0 employee
contribution
in the end you will get true-up match of $3,600 - $1,800 = $1,800
of course in order to get full $3,600 company match you do not have to max
out your $18,000 limit. you just have to contribute $3,600
