The way they described how to dump RAW data as fast as possible, to run 24fps 4k (3840x2160) 14-bit will need 166MBps rate or 1328Mbps, if efficiency is 100%. This is slightly beyond 1000x CF card (150MBps) data transfer rate. But with this type of solution you still need color interpolation to produce 4k result. For 1080p combining 4 pixels into one might result in less artifacts. The advantage of the current ML firmware is you first get the raw output dump. Then you decide how to encode the stream (including picking target resolution)
Yes I see. I did not know they have dual CF slots. Regarding the raw stream, it is reported the full resolution 5D3 raw stream from the new firmware is being processed at 1.5 fps on a very fast computer. Parallel/multi core may help though.
