a letter from an recuiter.
We are seeking a battery chemist to support its Research & Development
efforts and be an integral part of our battery testing and characterization
team. Provide operational expertise relating to battery testing and
characterization including assembly of batteries, electrochemical test
protocol implementation, abuse testing, test results documentation and post-
mortem analysis. The work will also include battery degradation and failure
mode analysis to optimize battery life and reliability. Experience with
Maccor, Arbin or Bitrode battery testing systems is a plus.
Essential functions:
* Battery fabrication techniques (coin cells, pouch cells and other
configurations)
* Battery testing and characterization techniques including calendar life,
cycle life, rate capability, cyclic voltammetry, AC impedance and other
characterization methods.
* Battery abuse testing including electrical, thermal and mechanical abuse
* Battery degradation analysis by characterizing side reactions, electrode
structure, crystallography and surface analysis techniques
* Develop test strategies, hardware and software to validate the performance
of battery systems in an R&D environment
* Competitive product analysis to establish solid position for EPT battery
technology
* Improve utilization of battery testing equipment.
* Experience of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Generate regular progress reports and keep supervisor informed on a
regular basis on testing status
* Comply with laboratory, State and Federal health, safety, fire and
environmental policies. Good housekeeping practices are complied within the
working area
Position Requirements:
• Candidates will have a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,
Materials Science, or a related field
• BS with 5-7 years, MS with 3-5 year or PhD with 2-3 would be
qualified
