The company is a global leader in the separation sciences industry. We are
looking to recruit a General Manager to lead sales and operations and be
responsible for the overall implementation and continual improvement of the
operations, sales, marketing, and new business development for the country
of China. This is a ‘hands-on’ role for a diligent and hardworking manager
.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic direction including sales and
operational matters, goal setting, meeting targets, logistics, staff
management, legal matters, management of change projects, high level
negotiation skills, financials and reporting, strong communication skills
and previous experience of communicating in a global or pan-Asian
environment.
Report on regional sales activities.
Develop short and long term range plans and programs that support
strategic objectives.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, manage, & support various sales team
members who commit to excellence and make daily contributions to customer
satisfaction.
Ensure assigned regions meet or exceed sales & gross profit goal targets.
Provide on-going sales support & coaching to all assigned staff to
achieve maximum results
Requirements:
PhD or Masters Degree in Life Sciences preferred
Strong Chemistry background
Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment and reasoning
Strong leadership skills and able to motivate, direct and lead others.
Extremely skilled in the art of negotiation
Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed
fashion
At least 10+ years of experience in sales and or marketing experience,
particularly in China
At least 5+ years experience in management, particularly managing in
China
Speak and write fluent English and Mandarin
Excellent presentation skills
Possess keen understanding of the sales and marketing function
MUST be hands on and will be required to conduct sales calls and
customer service related activities on a daily basis.
Experience in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
with challenging deadlines.
Possess a good knowledge of Chinese laws and regulations.
