This is the break-down of how I pronounce it:
1. Try to say "rest", but when the tongue is in position to make the
"te" sound, hold the tongue there (the tip of the tongue against the
back of the upper front teeth and the sides of the tongue blocking
the air passage). Basically, say "res" and hold the tongue in
preparation to make the "te" sound, and air should be blocked now.
(If you release the tongue, you will say "rest".)
2. Keeping the tip of the tongue against the back of the front teeth,
