my lawyer (well, he is actually not a lawyer) told me he mailed out my
application on 1/9, but on the receipt (I-797C) the received date is January
17. Does this mean USCIS actually received my application on 1/17? If this
is the case, i am lucky to be seleceted for processing H1 visa since 1/17 is
the cut-off date, but it also means my lawyer didn't mail out my application
on 1/9, right? i may wanna hire him to do more legal applications for me, so
i need to make sure he is reliable. Is my
