a Neuroscience Integrated Solutions and Informatics postdoc. Janssen is the

The postdoc is offered by Neuroscience Integrated Solutions and Informatics
team within Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. and will be located in
Hopewell, NJ in the United States. Neuroscience Integrated Solutions and
Informatics team seeks a motivated scientist with expertise in creatively
applying quantitative analysis to large-scale longitudinal, population and
family based studies, as well as real-world evidence data.
The postdoc will develop science-based, data-driven, technology-enabled
solutions to advance our understanding of disease course and treatment
outcomes toward the goal of precision medicine for neuropsychiatric and
neurodegenerative diseases. He/she will develop advanced algorithms and/or
apply quantitative Big Data analytics to analyze and integrate multiple data
modalities including clinical phenotype, streaming data from wearable
sensors for sleep/activity monitoring and mobile devices for speech/voice/
social interaction monitoring, environmental and biological factors (such as
biomarkers including genetics, epigenetic, protein, mRNA and small RNA
profiling, metabolite, where applicable) to identify subgroups with
different disease trajectories/outcomes and build predictive algorithms to
predict these. An emphasis will be placed on algorithms that can exploit
data from multiple modalities including clinical, molecular data, as well as
wearable sensor and smartphone data. The postdoc will work in a results-
oriented environment with the goal of understanding the mechanism of action
and/or identifying and validating predictive models. The selected candidate
will have the opportunity to collaborate with prominent academic labs and
recognized disease area experts, to present results at major conferences,
and publish work.
This position offers the opportunity to leverage multi-modal data from
multiple Janssen clinical trials and observational studies and will have
opportunity interact with experts both within and outside of Janssen and
publish the scientific findings.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Computational Sciences, Statistics/Mathematics, Electrical
Engineer/Signal Processing, or Statistical Genetics/Genomics is required. A
proven track record of personal accountability, independent and efficient
work habits, being self-motivated, a quick learner, outstanding
communication skills, a team-player spirit, and innovation is required.
Expertise in at least one data modality and one advanced quantitative method
is required. Familiarity with non-parametric case only linkage analysis and
/or mixed-models is a plus.
