很多人不明白：美国人中午怎么吃那么少？晚上吃那么多？美国人每天睡那么少咋还一
天跟打了鸡血似的？美国人中午不午休，下午居然不犯困？是因为美国人天生基因强大
还是他们根本就没有午睡的习惯？之前在这篇文章中写过：《为什么美国人觉睡的少，
精力还那么充沛？》接触了很多老美或其他国家的员工。他们绝大多数都不午睡。但是
他们有下面的一些情况：
1.早晨上班很早，大概7点多就在办公室里。一个原因是可以躲过早高峰的车流，还有
个原因是，他们下午4点，不到五点就离开办公室了；
2.除了个别客户经理，晚上要熬夜陪客户或者写计划书。其余大多数员工晚上不加班，
睡觉很早。
3.跟我们一样喝咖啡喝茶等含咖啡因的提神饮料。
所以我想，如果他们跟我们一样的生活方式，成天加班。别说他是美国人，就算是仙人
也扛不住。而且我相信，随着发达国家劳动生产率逐渐被新兴工业化国家追平，他们以
后也一样需要午睡片刻提神，好认真完成下午或者晚上的繁重工作。
在美帝生活10多年，对比白人和亚洲朋友，可以肯定的是午睡和饮食结构有很大关系。
刚开始工作的时候，我常常会和同事们一起出去吃午餐，有几个白人同事每次都拒绝吃
中餐或者其他亚洲食物。一开始的时候我还以为是同事们事逼，没有尝试新鲜东西的心
态。后来混熟了，他们跟我说，不敢吃中餐的主要原因是每次吃完都有food coma（没
找到翻译，暂且称之为“饭困”吧），影响工作（他们常常用来形容亚洲食物的词是“
heavy”）。记得有一次午饭带他们去吃日本拉面，下午1点的会议，那叫一个无精打采
（答主也未能幸免）。
除了中餐，日本拉面，印度饭制造“饭困”的能力也是杠杠的。后来我们几个约定是不
太忙的周五中午去吃这些让人发困但无比好吃的亚洲美食（然后回来喝巨多咖啡 ）老
美的午餐，普遍碳水化合物的比例偏低。很多中午健身的美国人，午餐吃的就只有蛋白
、蔬菜和水果。即便是Burger和三明治一类的，那个白面包的重量基本也是可以忽略的
。相比之下，中餐里的米饭、白面含量高(动辄3两的量)。大量的精米和精面会瞬间转
化为糖，而血糖的升高很容易导致人乏困。
我有几个特别能吃米、面的朋友，他们有时候甚至晚餐以后都需要小憩一会。而反观那
些精力比较旺盛的朋友，通常都不怎么吃碳水化合物。如果想不午餐后犯困，控制食量
是最重要的。但是，我相信，很多知友也和我一样，喜欢吃饭有点饱足感。（虽然说做
到7分饱是最好的）
怎么做呢？我自己的一点小办法，仅供参考。人的大脑在饱足感上是能被欺骗的，觉得
不那么饿，才能吃得少。首先，我加大了我的早餐摄入量，差不多翻倍。早餐一般以燕
麦，牛奶，水果，火腿之类的为主。这样做的效果是，午餐的时候饥饿感暴跌。我以前
可能11点半就饿的不行，到了12点开饭很容易就吃多了。“从吃饱，到大脑觉得饱大概
有个20分钟的时差。”饥饿感十足的情况下，非常容易摄入过多食物。以前纳粹难民营
里救出来的人，吃多了撑死便是极端的情况。
另外一个很多同事用的方法是，午餐前30分钟去喝一大杯水。这个的原理是，大脑对于
饱足感在短时间内无法区分水或者别的食物，也就是通过餐前喝水增加饱足感。
最后就是想告诉大家，“除了白米和面，这个世界上有太多不同的主食可以吃了。”
