近来有消息表明，英特尔在经过Medfield单核处理器的失败之后并没有放弃进军智能移
动设备领域的想法，并且计划推出基于22nm工艺的双核Medfield处理器。
近日，一款型号为Redhookbay的全新英特尔智能手机产品遭到曝光，根据NenaMark2和
安兔兔两款软件的测试报告可以看出这款手机运行的是Android 4.2.1操作系统，采用
一面720p触摸屏，搭载双核Medfield处理器，该处理器的主频在1.6GHz~2.0GHz之间，
并且集成PowerVR SGX 544MP图形芯片。
Redhookbay的安兔兔最高测试成绩竟然达到了31612分，性能之强大实在令人乍舌，同
时该手机还将支持4G LTE网络。
据此前消息显示，英特尔计划在WMC 2013大会正式推出新一代移动平台产品，届时
Redhookbay智能手机或将会正式亮相。此外，有消息人士指出，英特尔目前正在试图与
中国和印度等新兴国家市场中的通信运营商建立合作推出更多的入门级智能手机产品。

功耗估计不错，intel毕竟工艺水平高。
至于卖多少钱，那就纯商业决定了。
不过现在的大厂商（intel, samsung) 都自己出cpu，直接跟intel竞争了。

This seems like a lab chip. The mass production will be 1 year later.
This is the game that Intel used to play 20 years back. I remember Intel was
the first one showed its chip running at 100MHZ in one of the show against
several RISC processors. However, this time is very different because the
competitors
* Have same ecosystem, and low cost large volume ecosystem.
* Have same software platform, Android, very popular one, and free.
* Low margin, large volume business model.
The benchmark looks impressive even if Intel can do volume shipment at the
end of 2013. The key question is the price(assume the power consumption is
in the same range as the top of line ARM chips from Qualcomm, Samsung and
Nvidia). If the price is
* Under $30: Some may switch
* $30-50: Fewer will use it.
* Over $50: Forget about it for the Android tablets.
If this chip only can be paired with Windows, then it's not big deal to the
ARM chip companies because Windows tablet will be in trouble if
the price can not go down to the same range as Android.

上市太晚. 2009就流片, 结果和NOKIA耽误了时间, 等NOKIA转向WP后才回头和ANDROID
搞.
本来09年夏流片, 如果2010年夏Medfield就上市, 性能当时绝对无敌了, 领先ARM两年
不止.

据说25%的ANDROID应用会有兼容问题(其中90%可用二进制转码解决，速度会慢)。

这个东西，intel要混不容易。就算靠工艺能耗赶上来了，价格也是个问题。
现有的ARM CPU，从性能上来说足够了。大部分应用真有瓶颈也是在网络上。

Intel 这年头是横竖都不是.
Due to the software incompatibility issue, in order to get Android tablet
manufacturers to use its chip. It has to offer either at least 50% more
performance for the same price and same power consumption. The real
performance may be much more than the visible of 50% more performance due to
binary conversion/simulation, or lower price for the same performance.
Based on the Intel business model, it doesn't look like Intel would go with
lower
price($10-$20 for each chip).
If Intel offer a reasonable powerful CPU(say i3 level) for $50 or less, then
it will affect its laptop business. However, this is the only way that
Intel can go.
Anyhow, the good days for Intel is gone. Intel used to be able to make $100-
$200 per laptop; In a couple of year(or less) it probably only can make $50-
100 per laptop.
Thanks for the ARM+Android platform. We, all consumers have another option
to go with besides Wintel. Monopoly is not good for consumers, consumers
have been paying too much to Wintel in the last 20 years.

说反了吧，应该是Intel洗洗睡吧，ARM阵营那么多厂家，哪个做的芯片都比Intel的强
，我们公司以前试用了一款Intel的芯片，最后因为功耗，performance，等诸多问题放
弃，现在都是用ARM的，Intel的x86架构放在那儿，怎么弄都弄不过ARM，再过几年，服
务器市场都会被ARM攻陷，Intel基本就是象他的partner微软一样半只脚进棺材了。

我的看法和你一模一样，Intel靠架构垄断高价格，以高利润支持工艺的biz model彻底
被打破了。现在Tablet对低端PC侵蚀非常严重，Intel无论是降价还是保持原价，都是

在过几年arm的server有没有人用都是问题。Intel不回倒下的。

server方面intel不可能丢，领先太多了。现在主要是看手机方面intel能不能插一脚。

当年ibm也领先太多。价格是关键。
