extender
下面是我回复的一部分。

Let me think about it...well now we are talking about, 420 F/4 non-IS; 400 F
/4 IS, 420 F/4 IS. There are a few to come in, the 300 F/4 IS, the 400 5.6
and of course the 100-400 IS.
We can first kick 100-400 out because of its slow focus speed. The 400 5.6
would have limited use in bushes and forests, but I always find it a good
lens to have. 300 F4 IS is a little slow but with IS off it gets better, it
is however a little short. Worst things about 400 DO are the IQ and price,
but it's portable, fast in focus speed. We don't quite know the 420 F/4 IS
or non-IS, though, but we know they are as portable as the 400 DO. One is ~
300 cheaper the other at least $1500 (including price of the converter).
They may get slower focus speed and bad IQ.
The 500 4.5 is THE best lens (portable, sharp, long, cheap at least used to
be) but doesn't go with a converter on 7D; it's hard to find and is pretty
pricy right now, with possible strong drop in price over the years. We can
kick it out, too. 500 IS may be too expensive. 600 non IS is way too heavy
and 800 IS is not even affordable. It's crazy to bring a 400 2.8 IS for
birding and sometimes you need converters on it, making it scary. I haven't
used a 600 IS, 400 non IS so I don't know...
I hope you can find the lens for yourself with their advantage and
disadvantage being clear.
