美国士兵突然越界闯入朝鲜！美防长发声

"There's a lot that we're still trying to learn," Austin told a news briefing. "We believe that he is in (North Korean)custody and so we're closely monitoring and investigating the situation and working to notify the soldier's next of kin."

据一位匿名美国官员称，这名士兵是二等兵特拉维斯·金（Travis T. King），2021年入伍，因袭击指控被捕，最近刚从韩国监狱获释。美国军方原计划将他送往得克萨斯州接受进一步的纪律处分。

The soldier, who was identified as Pvt. Travis T. King, had recently been released from a South Korean prison after being arrested on assault charges, according to a US official familiar with the situation who was not authorized to speak publicly. US military officials had planned to send him to Fort Bliss, Texas, to face additional disciplinary actions.

"I can't see Travis doing anything like that," Claudine Gates, of Racine, Wisconsin, said.

她补充说，当地时间18日早上，美国军方告诉她金已越界进入朝鲜。她说自己最后一次收到儿子的消息是在“几天前”，当时儿子告诉她将很快返回美国布利斯堡军事基地。她还说，现在只希望“儿子能回家”。

Gates said the Army told her on Tuesday morning that King had crossed into North Korea. She said she last heard from her son "a few days ago," when he told her would return soon to his base in Fort Bliss. She added she just wants "him to come home."

驻韩美军发言人艾萨克·泰勒上校表示，美军方正在“与朝军合作解决这一事件”。

当天晚些时候，白宫发言人卡琳·让-皮埃尔表示，五角大楼、国务院和联合国的美国官员都在努力“查明更多信息并解决这一问题”。
