不知道精算在Bank中都有什么应用啊~
现在开起来好像70%都在insurance中……
不知道具体在bank中精算可以发挥什么样的作用呢……

The actuarial profession and insurance companies have placed more emphasis
on ERM these days, which has been implemented in the banking industry for
years. I can see more opportunities in big banks for actuaries in the future
....

but when I talked with a senior manager in one of the biggest banks in US,
he said actuary is much more for insurance than banking......
I held the same opinions as you before, but now I am doubt about them now:(

that is why SOA is doing those campaigns to change the image of actuary.
At the same time you can be one of those pioneers into this new playfield
for actuaries.

There is no other profession that is better trained than actuaries to do the
ERM works. SOA did a decent job on the image compaign, we will see how this
turns out in years to come.
