I saw some openings of statisticians/SAS programmers/data analysts in
insurance companies. Given that more and more actuarial jobs are selective
about citizenship, I wonder if its a good alternative to apply those jobs.
How do you think about the roles of statisticians in insurance industry?
How do you compare them with entry-level actuarial jobs? Here's my 2 cents,
correct me if i were wrong:
pros:
1. More companies sponsor H1b.
2. (I guess) more companies sponsor EB2 since most openings requir

These are really good roles themselves or leading to actuarial path, in P/C
companies. You work with actuaries day to day; in many companies this
function is housed in actuarial dept, and viewed more cutting-edge work than
conventional actuarial work.
