I bought 12' iBook recently; loved it. Apple's LCD is the best, I feel 12'
suffices.
The problem is the 盗版 software, unfortunately, it is not easy to get them.
But, with my experience, I kind want to buy the official software from Apple,
because I feel like to support them for the good job done. I do find Mac
version of some GNU open source softwares. so....
To CPU speed, I'm using 500, don't feel any pain yet. But I haven't started
play with iMovie yet, so cannot say more. But we always can b

I bought an Ibook 12' 600MHz last december.
After that, I never want to use my PC unless necessary.
there should be big difference betweeen iBook 500 and iBook 600
due the system bus speed: 66MHz vs 100MHz.
If possible, get the iBook 600.
As for the LCD, you can hook up an external CRT monitor to iBook.
That is what I am doing: using a 17'' CRT with iBook.
I just installed ManDrake Linux 8.2 for PowerPC. It is pretty cool.
For pirate software, it is kind of difficult.
Does anybody want to share
