《鬼谷子》序言
鬼谷子，姓王名诩，春秋时人。常入云梦山采药修道。因隐居清溪之鬼谷，故自称
鬼谷先生。
鬼谷子为纵横家之鼻祖，苏秦与张仪为其最杰出的两个弟子〔见《战国策》〕。另
有孙膑与庞涓亦为其弟子之说〔见《孙庞演义》〕。
纵横家所崇尚的是权谋策略及言谈辩论之技巧，其指导思想与儒家所推崇之仁义道
德大相径庭。因此，历来学者对《鬼谷子》一书推崇者甚少，而讥诋者极多。其实外交
战术之得益与否，关系国家之安危兴衰；而生意谈判与竞争之策略是否得当，则关系到
经济上之成败得失。即使在日常生活中，言谈技巧也关系到一人之处世为人之得体与否
。当年苏秦凭其三寸不烂之舌，合纵六国，配六国相印，统领六国共同抗秦，显赫一时
。而张仪又凭其谋略与游说技巧，将六国合纵土蹦瓦解，为秦国立下不朽功劳。所谓「
智用于众人之所不能知，而能用于众人之所不能。」潜谋于无形，常胜于不争不费，此
为《鬼谷子》之精髓所在。《孙子兵法》侧重于总体战略，而《鬼谷子》则专于具体技
巧，两者可说是相辅相成。
《鬼谷子》共有十四篇，其中第十三、十四篇已失传。《鬼谷子》的版本，常见者
有道藏本及嘉庆十年江都秦氏
