on site结束，系主任要了个equipment list。
两周后写信说“I am now working with the finalist of our faculty search
largely to make sure I understand their start-up requests. In your case I am
sure our Dean will be concerned about the extent of your request. He
expects this to be a start-up package that will take the person through the
first 3 years when your own outside funding should begin.”
还是说我要少了？

上上个星期，我突然写信告诉他我很生他的气，因为他总是爽约，我联系不到他，我很
没有安全感。他一直都不回我的邮件，要跟他见面，他也不回应。所以，上个周二，我
突然按耐不住，去了他家楼下，按门铃，没有人开门。但是家等是亮的，就等了将近一
个小时，后来一个外国女的问我是否需要帮助，我就说我在等这个人，不知道他是否在
家，结果她离开后又跑过来告诉我去楼的后面就可以看到他确实是在家里活动，我就听
了她，去了楼背面，看到他，他只好出来了，里面还有别人。我也没追求那到底是谁。
结果，他让我先回去，第二天见我。第二天，他跟我说这样突然在楼下按陌生人的门铃
（这个是门铃没有写他的名字，所以我是乱按的），还说我跑楼后面去看他，让他非常
不舒服，说要我冷静下来。我说好，我确实不应该随便乱闯的感觉。结果，他就去别的
城市了几天，今天本来要见面的，突

你不可能要得太少，所以我觉得系主任的意思是说你要得太多了。系主任明确说
startup只是给前三年的，三年以后就要靠你自己申请来的钱了。
