2010 OPT case processed by TSC (Texas)
08/27, Material sent to USCIS (usps priority mail), attached an offer letter
copy and a brief note for expedite request, and I set my starting
date as 10/01.
08/31, Material receipt date
09/16, Call USCIS for expedite request (1-800-375-5283)
09/29, Receive post mail from TSC regarding my request, requiring more proof
documentation, decision actually made on 09/22, but no email or phone
call notification before I received the post mail which was delayed
7 days.
09/28, Fax offer letter and expedite letter to TSC first time (FAX #:
214-962-1450), not any feedback afterward
10/05, Fax documents to TSC second time, not any feedback afterward
10/22, Fax documents to TSC third time, Got response a few hours after
sending out fax.
10/22, Status changed to card/documentation production
10/25, Status changed to post decision activity
10/28, Received EAD card, everything is OK except the starting date changes
to be 10/22 but ending date unchanged, which means I lost my OPT days
for about 22 days.
My experience indicates keeping fax to TSC definitely helps as long as
some people on the other end seriously takes care of your application.
However, please be cautious to use this trick unless you are in a desperate
status to get your opt, I am afraid too much fax will piss TSC agents off.
Normally TSC OPT process time is around 50-60 days, much longer than CSC
and NSC as I known from the reports here.
Good luck to all the opt waiters!!!
