here is what's my daughter's teacher used, and I believe it is quite
standard across nation
for example, 39+67 can be viewed as
30+60=90
9+7=16
90+16=106
eventually the teacher said she wishes to achieve the goal that when do
multiple digit addition, write down the answer from left to right, instead
of from right to left like it is usually done.
Just make sure the kids understand that when doing addition with 2 numbers,
the value of 进位 is either 0 or 1. For a five year old, this might take a
while to comprehend.
I personally think it make more sense to first practice single digit
addition/substraction to perfection (without 掰手指头做加法) before
introducing 进位借位。When the timing is right, it only takes 5 min for the
child to understand the concepts, which might take them months to really get
it now

seriously,我妈妈教了几十年数学,给我举过一个例子,以前她教过一个小孩,他妈妈很早
就教会他二位数加法列竖式,后来上学死活学不会心算,只会列竖式,可是考试都要求填心
算过程,那个小孩怎么都不会,只会得结果,所以考试总是得0分.
其实现在国内幼儿园都不准大人自己在家先教这些了,因为打乱了学校的教学进程,而且
先教有个坏处,就是小孩自以为会了,上课不认真听.
上学之前会数十个指头,做一位数的简单凑十加法就行了,别教过头~~

有意思的是,她们老师想用这种办法是因为有很多学生不明白为什么进的是十,白,千
,而不是进一,她是为了避免confusion才想用这种办法,但是她也强调3年级结束的时
候还要回到原来的从右到左的经典算法,just for the sake of concept.
这其实就是在跟那些不明白的学生说“you don't need to know why, just do it”.
当然另一些孩子一看就知道从左到右是怎么回事。这也是老师没有办法才用的懒人教法

我觉得可能那个孩子学的时候, 她妈妈打过孩子或者恐吓过孩子, 孩子有心理阴影所以
不敢用别的方法. 我家孩子这个进位的问题, 有N个老师教过她, 自己有乱想了些方法,
估计有四五种方法做. 问题就是题来了, 先得花好长时间选用哪种方法做. 这个自以
为是的毛病也是有的, 好好的加减法, 非要用乘法的99表来做, 气得我真想揍人.
