interesting! if you want to become an artist, not a designer or architect,
then the only thing I can say is, more practice. the works done in 1995 was a
good start, but did not see much progress on the latest works.

Thank you. You're right, I didn't practice much until this summer I took
the painting class. Now I am in a life drawing class, to draw from model.
I'll put on my life drawings in the winter holiday.
No longer want to become an architect. Potential designer if fate leads me
to, though don't see much that tendancy. But yes probably an amateur artist.
I'm interested in portraiture and landscape, and prefer real and delicate
style. Beyond modern art, abstractism, cubism etc., classic skills are stil

knowing your goal is good, technique does help, however, to express what do
you see and think is the point, as an artist, you are painting for yourself,
as long as yuo are satisfied with your self

i think talking about being an artist at this stage is quite off the point.
too lofty topic and not very informative. to master the skill is the first
thing to set off for. you may then find, hopefully, your own way of expression
through years of practice, that is, if you have the talent. otherwise,
entertain yourself and/or family/friends is good enough to me.

I don't think artists are that lofty, or art is that lofty. There can be
many different kinds of arts and artists. If you go to an art department
you'll find many different majors, even glass blowing and printmaking, I
wouldn't consider these two to be arts in the past. Art becomes something
different when the higher class and money play their roles. Those own
something special through years of practice can be called masters. But
to be an artist one doesn't have to be a master.

蛮不错.喜欢Manikin的脸部神情,Facsimile of M.C.Escher's
"Rind".但最喜欢Grisaille Value Study里面光线的用法,好似比后几幅画要活一些.不过
纯属外行意见,赫赫

I learned introduction to painting this summer. This semester I took
introduction to life drawing, next semester I'll take intermediate
life drawing. Hope you will post your work and we can have some discussion:)
