想问一下这里学艺术或设计类专业的朋友# Arts - 艺术殿堂

我也想学此种类型的专业，因为我只对这类专业感兴趣，有激情。比较不幸的是我没有一
点绘画基础，可能略有一点天分，可以忽略不计。
我想问一下象我这种情况，还可以去学设计，或艺术相关的专业吗？都有哪些专业可以选
择？因为以前从来没有接触过，连GOOGLE都不知道该GOOGLE什么。希望这里的朋友可以指
引一点方向。

你可以学设计，比如平面设计或者是织物设计
如果你有计算机的基础，可以做3d
不过，没有基础申请master还是很难的
你可以考虑从本科读起

很多设计类的专业提供专门给没有本专业基础的学生读的program,一般三年拿master.
不过所有设计类专业都要求提供作品集,而且不太会有全奖.如果自己愿意出钱读,应该
不难申请.

不错，再加几点：
１。钱。学费且不提，其他的呼略，
电脑（$8００-$3000），打印机(>400)，照相机(>200)。成堆的ink, 成打的纸。保守估
计一下，就两三千了。
２。时间。就semester来讲，每节颗每周6小时。每学期也就能拿四五门专业棵。
别想多拿科，早毕业。若是非美院的本科，要学4.5年才可以把课拿玩。
这个专业的人只有晚毕业，没有早毕业的。特别是对没基础的人来说。
３。现在最吃香的是平面设计了。但毕业后，工资可能偏底，
绝大部分的公司不帮忙转身份。
如果你认为这些都不是问题的话，
完全可以试试！

You can use the equipments of school, not every mojor depends on computer a
lot. Point 2 is especially right, it took me 3.5 years to complete my MFA, I
started my thesis at the 3rd semester, and spent the whole last year only for
it. BTW, I got my bachelor from top school in China, and did not take any
under courses here. Point 3, not realy, depends; my company is applying H-1
for me now.

我也喜欢这类专业。我每天看HGTV，DESIGNER‘S CHALLENGE，百看不厌。SIGH，这辈子
给应试教育毁了。

not really. you can put ANY of your art works in your portfolio if you were
not
art or design major.

i have a BS in Industrial Design from Ga Tech, most of my classmates
had no drawing fundamentals IMO. i had been in arch major in china
before and i can tell you they can't draw shit. but their creativities
always amaze me. they didn't go thru formal trainings so their drawing
fundamentals sucked ass. when it comes to design their ideas will
make that up. there are probably a lot of people tell you to give up
the idea of doing something you only had passion but no basic skills,
well, screw them

Thanks a lot gogowanda
but, I think it is really difficult to get admission to Master
with some unprofessional works, even there is creativity in
them. I had applied for some MFA in digital art but get refused.
maybe Bachelor is a good choice, but it is another 4 years.
sigh.

designer is not artist, that's why drawing/painting skill is not a must for
design major, but strong hand drawing skill will definitly help. my those
skills are just above average when I was in college in China, but all american
students here look at me as a master. when you try to get into graduate level,
the most important thing is to let the chair know what you wanna do in the
next few years if they accept you. tell them that you have the will, the goal,
and the potential, tell them who you w

Thank you all.
I don't think I still get the chance to be an artist. To be a designer is good
enough for me. Designers aren't artists, but they still create so called
artworks. :)
Sometimes I feel so ashamed. Shall I call myself an art lover? Athough I love
all the museums of arts, although I always feel excited for artworks, although
I used to doodle till midnight when I was a child. But I didn't pursue my
dream to be a painter, not even take any drawing classes. I know almost
nothing about art

作品很简单,拿几张素描速写,或者先借俩张都行.
然后去拍一些作品..基本就可以搞顶FINE ART或GRARFIC FINE ART..
以及一些基础简单的设计专业了.
一定要注意创新,这样导师会更高兴一些.好运:))

你这个说法，碰运气的成分太大了，而且也太。。。。还用借的？？
我觉得thatgirl可以找些课程，业余短期的那类，上个几堂课，了解这行到底
是怎么操作，大约做些什么。
看和做是不太一样的。
而且，中途退出的人很多，这个苦活，报酬和努力不见得成正比。
你这法子，申请破校可以，申请好的，远着了。。。
若不小心给纰漏了，还惹一身腥，
我觉得诚实还是很重要的。

拉倒吧，我虽然画的没有特别好但是相对来讲也算不错的了
因为我的英文水平不高，所以没申请岛好学校，我认识一个朋友

害的我郁闷坏了只想混个文凭毕业拉倒。而且说实话在这边除了开开眼界
以外其他什么都没学到，老师的水平差的要死。。：（（
每当我和我妹妹比的时候就更觉得郁闷了。。。退诠溃暮芎谩
人家在国内读的多幸福，最起码知道自己在做什么。

一个比较新的专业graphic fine art.
说设计不是设计说纯艺不是纯艺。
可惜了我原来做版画，画素煤退傩吹墓Φ住！＃
现正准备从头再来休整一年等这边毕业后回中美去修个master呢。。

我什么都做以自己的ide为中心，尽可能的运用一切多煤体来铺垫自己的想法。
不是graphic desige,是以中介于graphic desigh和fine art之间的东东
出来的时候只是觉得纯艺不太容易发展，而对电脑制作的graphic又不太懂。
所以选了这个，到现在都后悔。。。

you must have very strong painting backgrounds then don't give up on 纯艺.
don't do things that you don't know or you are not interested. not like an
artist, designer shall really concern about what other people think/feel, if
you cannot, be an artist.

现在开始起,终于要重新拾取原来的纯艺了,还是很高兴...

Are you sure you wanna spend lots of money to get such a degree of art or
design? if you have no 绘画基础, it is hard, even to be a designer.
for an artist, first is your eye and brain - you can see what is beauty and
you can image it. second is your hand - you can creat some beauty by your
hand. then you can be an artist. if your hand is not so good (but must have
some skills), you can be a designer. If your eye and brain is not so good, you
cannot be either. The simple major in this area is photog

thatgirl, why not take some classes first?
How do you know you only has passion on art although you don't have any
experiences on it? It may not be what you imagined.
Also, I agreed with some other posts here, it is good to do some art in your
spare time, not necessarily need to get a degree on it.
