Scientists estimate how much water ice hides below the martian surface.

In March, when Mars Odyssey scientists announced that the spacecraft had
found signs of water ice below the martian surface, the team was hesitant to
say just how much ice could be there. But now, after getting a chance to
really crunch the numbers, they reveal that enough water to fill two of our
Great Lakes lies just below the planet's dry skin.
