Just tried Mars last night, 2 AM. ST80, 4 mm. 100X. can not see anything
except it is a plate not a point. I have red, yellow, light green, light blue
filter. Which one should I use? I got only 15 min between cloud last night.
Photo tripod, switched between 25 mm, 10mm and 4mm. I have not time to try
filters. TIA.

st80 is probably too small/fast for martian details. you'll need around 200x
or higher to comfortably see details. this kind of magnification is not
supported by st80, which is designed to be a portable widefield scope. (I use
an 8" dob, 9mm + barlow, which gives about 270x)

try
