I am seriously considering lease a Leaf to save $300 monthly gasoline bill
for my commute.
Any leaf owner knows the answer.

可以，但是lease是有里程限制的12k，另外你一月300，单程多少，LEAF一次充电大概
能跑60多，如果公司没充电的，单程30都比较危险。

这油费估计每天这个来回有60miles了，一个下班的长堵车就能让人急死。

电动车可以上carpool，而且跑低速省电，比较适合湾区这种烂交通。

Actually, my one way to office is around 22-23 miles.
Round trip is around 45 miles. My BMW 5 series only gives me around 23 MPG
due to the heavy traffic. Average weekly is around 300 miles(weekend have to
send kids to different program and myself go to gym). Usually, I fill up
gasoline once a week, around $60-70/week(if it's $4/gallon).
If I can use carpool lane with leaf, that can save me a lot of time and
money.

If so LEAF should be good for you, but you need to BUY not lease.
It has $7500 tax credit, so it is about 23K.
Another issue is the leaf battery. it has 5 year or 60K warranty after that
Nissan offers a 100/month service plan for new battery.

I think lease is better than purchase. Electrical cars usually do not have
good resale value due to the battery concerns.
I saw the newspaper AD say, $2000 down for $199 monthly lease. I will go to
the Nissan dealer this weekend to test drive and check out all details.

记得回来update啊，貌似lease新车也有很多tricks啊，除了msrp和selling price还要
搞清楚money factor和residual value？

可以走car pool
纯高速大概只有60-70的里程，但是一般情况都是混合，认识一个每天30多迈单程的，
公司不充也能扛下来
湾区适合car pool，下班的101除外

These days there are quite a lot of cars on the carpool lane during the rush
hours. So, most of time it can not get 60-70 miles/hour speed, which mean
it should get better mileage in this case.
