A two-car collision Tuesday on Hwy. 404 left three people dead and one with
serious injuries.
The crash shut down part of the highway north of Stouffville Rd. around 5 p.
m.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said it “looks like a crossover.”
“A vehicle came across from the southbound lane to the northbound lane and
then struck another vehicle,” he said.
The vehicle from the southbound lane was described as a grey Ford Fusion,
while the other was a Toyota Camry.
The three people who died at the scene were in the Camry, while the driver
of the Fusion landed in a trauma hospital, conscious but with serious
injuries, police said. The identities of the victims was not immediately
available.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
