I just saw the nice talk about JBC. I want to point out that it is more fair
to say that JBC is a very good journal to publish papers having a lot
biochemical data including enzymology and biochemical approaches, as far as to
those about developmentand cell biology, it is definitely not a good choice to
send your paper there. Another thing I want to remind you guys that JBC has
only one peer reviewer, this is probably partial reason that it also published
bull shit papers a lot.

we have several times thatthe comments from JBC reviewer is very strange.
recently we had a paper, rejected by JBC but accepted by EMBO. That
really is good work but JBC reviewer can not understand it.
we feel the mechanism of JBC is not so good. But maybe they have to deal
with so many papers, that they can only do the best like this.
