拿到了perm的offer，公司要背景调查。关于employment history, ceng 被一个中国大
骗子骗去作了一段时间的contractor，后来因为这个大骗子谎话连篇，严重克扣我的工
资。所以中间逃去找perm的工作，这个大骗子兼坏人就很不爽（他从我身上赚了很多钱
）， 到处说我的坏话。现在新的公司要背景调查，会不会给他打电话核实我的
contractor经历？万一，这个坏人说我坏话，怎么办？急坏了！！有没有了解这个背景
调查的？ 万分感谢了~
现在深深的体会到，只要有条活路，就不做contractor。这行有不少中国人骗子啊！

title to attract people...Ning is apparently doing well, big Congrat to her
and some could shut up now...
That said, I would want to think that people with more resources could aim
highers and do things differently beyond NCS...Not sure I would like to
congrat her again if I saw another sexy NCS from her this y or next y...

非常感谢楼上两位的回复~
这个中国recruiter大骗子以前就威胁我，如果我走了，新的公司为我作背景调查的时
候，他就不接电话。我还真担心他不接电话，新公司没法核实我的这段contractor经历。
为什么这些recruiter这么坏呢？大家都是中国人，在美国混都不容易，这个
recruiter已经从我身上赚了这么多钱了，还要再折麽自己的同胞，有时候真想曝光这
样的骗子，以免大家再上当受骗。

作为新PI直接就"aim highers and do things differently beyond NCS"还是有难度的
. 起码得先拿tenure再说吧. 没准人家就是用几篇cns垫垫场, 保证一下自己的位置和
资源, 然后就可以放手做一些其他的东西了

I do not know how to threaten him. This is a really bad person who just
wants to earn money and cheat young students who are eager to get a job. The
company gave me 45$/hour, he got 30$/hour and only gave me 15$/hour.

sure...Ning has three high profile study this year, so I hope that is enough
for her establishment in China...and
given opportunity, I personally feel it is much more fulfilling to do some
nice work(really influential and
challenging/pioneering work or in a systematic fashion) than to publish in
NCS...too much water in NCS and
perhaps less than 1-10% has real value...

我当时给offer前的背景调查,就是让我给出SSN和DL，并签证授权调查。2个小时后HR告
诉我查过了。第2天早上给了offer.
一周后收到一个3rd party信件，给我了一个复印文件，有我在美国的学历，和工作记
录，居住记录，说他们这些信息提供给了某某公司。
这是我当时的经历。你没有什么好担心的。

我1099。我还是个国际学生，他给我开1099。这样他可以省钱，黑心的主。。。。愁死

become established, I would
prefer doing some solid work over going with the tidy/sexy stuff all the
time...People in the field would know
what to appreciate/respect...Take YG as an example ( to be clear I don't
mean to dispute at all that he is a
very good/successful scientist) , I am not sure that up to this point, his
status in the structural biology field is
proportional to the number of NCS articles he has scored..

背景调查公司基本上有你的w2或者1099就可以了，没事的

but Yan Nieng is not established yet, right? She is still a young PI who
needs to demonstrate/secure herself (esp. considering the negative thin
gs going around at THU).
BTW< chasing after the hot stuff is still a respectful way of doing scie
nce, besides focusing on one important question one recognizes... Consid
ering Lao Poo, how many times he switched field in the past decades? But
he is still a highly recognized and respected scientist, who made contr
ibutions in a lot of subjects.
