额，这种事该不该说呢，现在我还在纠结，想想还是想让大家给我鉴别下，我是不
是真的得了社交恐惧症～
不知道你们听见自己手机响的第一反应是什么，是很平常的拿出来手机看看是谁
然后接电话吧。我不行，我一听见电话响就烦啊，不管是谁的电话打进来，我内心里好
像有一种又来找我什么事的烦躁感。
再有就是爱宅在家里不愿出去，有party了，我也是最没存在感的那一个。我怎么
觉的大家都能找到话题聊呢？还都很开心的样子。真的不知道怎么和别人搭讪啊，第一
句话该说什么完全没有想法。就算说了也好怕没有话题聊冷场，那还不如不说。所以大
多时候我都一个人坐在那默默的吃吃吃。
可能也是由于这样，以前的很多朋友都生疏了。
我还是觉得一个人自在啊，不用敷衍别人不用绞尽脑汁猜别人的意思，也挺好的
，除了有的时候觉的孤单一点到也没什么。但慢慢的自己真的会和社会脱节嘛？天阿撸
，想想还有点可怕。有没有人给个好点的建议，或者我就应该坚持做自己？

Regional Content Expansion adds 1,355 journals in 84 Countries
Philadelphia, PA, London, UK, June 28, 2011 – Thomson Reuters today
announced the release of the 2010 Journal Citation Reports® (JCR), the
world’s most influential source of information about highly-cited, peer
reviewed publications and the source of the new Journal Impact Factors.
The 2010 release features the largest ever JCR with 10,196 journal listings
in 238 disciplines of Science and Social Sciences. 2,494 publishers from 84
countries are represented, some for the first time. A total of 1,075
journals receive their first Journal Impact Factor in the latest JCR release
.
Through the Thomson Reuters Regional Content Expansion project, an ambitious
multi-year initiative that began in 2006, Thomson Reuters has successfully
added 1,355 journals with a regional focus in 84 countries – 522 of which
receive a Journal Impact Factor for the first time.

It's the news from Thomson Reuters' website. I don't know how to access/
download the JCR report. We won't be waiting too long to get this
information.

大家谈谈谁对JCR比较关心？
发过NSC 不是非常关心
发的文章都在IF小于3以下的可能也不是太关心
非常关心的都是中间的吧，特别是5-20之间的，靠这混饭吃了

I asked a few Americans, they don't seem to care much. This seems to be a
big deal for Chinese (and maybe Korean) scientists and students.

Not really! They may not care too much about IF, but they really care about
the level of journals, how to judge journals, JCR, all these were created by
Americans

support you.
It is simply stupid to believe the American PIs do not care the quality of
the Journals. They may do not know the exact SCI Factor, but they are all
clear the NSC are way better than most of the main street journals...

很多美国PI可能真不清楚杂志的具体点数。但是会知道个大概。
不过他们要说不在乎影响因子，那肯定是言不由衷。隔壁实验室德裔美国老板每次投稿
都要跟作者列出所有候选杂志的影响因子。有一次email里还说不想投curr bio是因为
它的影响因子一直在降。

well, they care to certain degree, but to my knowledge, it has never been
tied to promotion, hiring or student graduation.

well...if you keep publishing something in top journals with high IF,
it is easier for you to get promoted, hired, and recognized.

I am not disagreeing with the correlation, but the obsession with IF in
certain demographic is way over board.

sure. nowadays people are more obsessed with their own H-index and citations.
To be honest, I check my own every week and have personal goal for them at
certain age.
