07年5月开始的R01，是不是到2012年5月底之后就一分钱不给了。老板现在才开始写gra

博士后做了5年了，还能继续吗，不是必须要换身份的嘛

NIH allows carry-over. That is, if there's money left on the grant, you can
get an extension.
If the renewal goes in this Feb, you'll hear the scores in May. If the
score is good enough, you can spend money and get reimbursed after the grant
comes in.
Of course, these are only hypothetical situations that one is not
necessarily stranded. If I were you, I'd ask your PI what his vision is for
the next few years and what his advice is for you in terms of your career
planning, without mentioning the possibility that he may run out of money.
If I were the PI, I wouldn't be offended if you asked tactically, but some
people are more sensitive than others.

你老板自信满满啊，嚼着自己的grant可以不经打回修改一次性通过。

这个不一定把，如果钱还没有用完的，可以extension，至少是一年，只要你老板打个
电话就能搞定。
如果你老板没说让你找下家，前提是他关心你的career，又这么自信，肯定是剩下不少
钱，延一年不是问题。

电话就能搞定。
如果你老板没说让你找下家，前提是他关心你的career，又这么自信，肯定是剩下不少
钱，延一年不是问题。
