There are quite a few R books ranked high in Amazon Best Sellers for
Bioinformatics:
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Books-Bioinformatics/zgbs/bo
You will use R with Bioconductor Package a lot. See R & Bioconductor Manual
here:
http://manuals.bioinformatics.ucr.edu/home/R_BioCondManual
Also, it is better if you run some real data with R so you can say you have
completed a project with R. For example, gene array data and differential
expression.
