买的新房,builder答应给我们换新的抽油烟机(原来的是配套的微波炉式的),按照
builder指定的供货商, 我们选了一款broan external blower的高CFM的, 结果昨天到
店里一看, 吓一大跳, 安在屋外墙的external blower好大一块,都有半个厨房窗户大了
. 问供货商换其他的行不,人家说这是special order, 要扣50%的钱,500多块呢. 虽说
external blower 有一大好处是屋里很安静,但怎么看装在新房上都是一败笔.
大家都有没有人装这种external blower的,要是能装在房顶也行,偏偏我们的装不了,哪
位给个建议,留不留这个. 谢谢.

my gf and I live in Massachusetts, and look for a cat. we like ragdoll,
Bengal, Scottish fold, Siamese, british shorthair and toyger. but of coz
chemistry is more impt.
we will visit few shelters this weekend hopefully looking for kitten. if ppl
here has some info to share, it will be deeply appreciated.

siamese 可能可以在shelter里面找到，不过基本秒gone...
我至今看到3只，都么有抢到，还不是纯siamese,是siamese mix
其他的，你要去breeder那里买才有，基本不可能在shelter找到的

外墙只要不是房子正面就还好吧
我是挺推荐这种大风量的external blower的。让屋子里没有油烟哈喇味
比什么都强

我喜欢俄国蓝
其实小土猫漂亮的有很多，基因是很奇妙的东西，总能有漂亮的小猫生出来

i got a ragdoll from shetler, and there's a persian in the same shelter too.

不过这个明显是自杀阿，一个人在实验室，自己注射了大量的镇定和肌肉松弛剂，这不
是自杀难道是他杀？
台湾警方很可笑阿，rule out自杀的原因仅仅是因为“没有自杀note"？。。。。

而且谁知道有什么内幕，也未必就是一作造假，也许是台湾人觉得数据interpret的有
问题呢，这个还不是老板说的算。他一个外国新人，能有啥话语权。
文章出了事情把所有的责任扣到博后身上的还少了么，linda buck那事情也不久远啊,
发nature,评HHMI当院士的时候荣誉自己揽着，出了事情就一头扣到学生／博后身上...
.唉
生物这个学科现在真的很恶心的...当然也不只是生物了，数学里面偷窃别人idea据为
己有的事情还少么..
忘了谁说的，有点尖刻但是也不全错...现代生物的老祖宗Crick就是靠偷别人idea出道
的....这下梁么...

shelter里面这些猫也不少。当然小猫的话，多半是mix的。大猫有不少纯种的，不要以
为纯种猫就没人扔了。

**August 8, 2012** It is with great sadness that we acknowledge and grieve
the untimely death of our friend and former colleague Dr. Yu-yi Lin. Yu-yi
was a Johns Hopkins BCMB graduate student and post-doctoral fellow in Jef
Boeke’s lab. He was an outstanding and very productive scientist, who
pioneered much of this TCNP’s work on genetic and protein microarray
approaches to defining lysine acetyltransferase and deacetylase networks.
While at JHU, Yu-yi won a number of awards for his work, including the David
Israel Macht Award for young investigators in 2009, for using a protein
acetylation microarray to discover that NuA4 regulates cell metabolism and
aging. In the same year, Yu-yi set up his own lab at the National Taiwan
University College of Medicine in Taipei, where he focused on lysine
modification pathways in human cells. Yu-yi leaves behind his wife, Jin-
ying Lu, and three young daughters, as well as a multitude of friends and
family who miss him very much.

因该是老板去还，而不是学生或薄厚。对那些造假、剽窃什么真正该负责的是老板。尤
其是剽窃行为一般都老板才有。我真希望尽快看到剽窃者还账。

粗粗看了一下，这个人原来也在那个lab做的，然后好像对实验室原来的那套算法／方
法一直有怀疑，呆了好多年后被迫离开了这个组，后来看到那个台湾的scientist居然
用了那个方法发了大文章，经过自己的反复认证后，向杂志提出了怀疑。
但不清楚是不是最近retract的这篇。

文章造假老板当然应该负最大责任
不过一般干坏事都是喽罗送命，幕后主使安然无恙，学术圈也不例外

surrounded by needles, sedatives, and muscle relaxants. Police ruled out
suicide because there was no suicide note at the scene. The Scientist
regrets the error.
Correction (March 15): The paper in question was not alleged to contain
false or fabricated data, as previously stated. Instead, Daniel Yuan
questioned the methods used to analyze the data and the conclusions
subsequently drawn. The headline, subhed, and lede of the article have been

好像在哪里看到这个Daniel Yuan 收到了Lin死前发给他的email，说你终于看到你想看
到的了（大概意思啊），挺像自杀的。
这事后来不知道有没有新的结论出来。
Lin 还留下3个娃，太可怜了。

在实验室被人注射毒剂。多么惊世骇俗的重磅新闻！既然没报道，我猜就是没立案。
