Summary
Aptitude Medical Systems is developing the next generation aptamer-based
therapeutics and diagnostics. Aptitude is venture-backed, and generates
significant ongoing revenue through pharma collaboration and government
contracts. We are looking for a capable and driven Research Associate to
join our tight-knit research team. We offer competitive compensation, and
growth opportunities uniquely available in a fast-growing startup.
Responsibilities
• Understand project objectives, develop experimental plan, and
properly prioritize tasks;
• Conduct molecular biology, biochemical, and bioengineering
experiments;
• Document experimental results, analyze data, and communicate
results to senior research staff;
• In this dynamic working environment, other responsibilities may
be added.
Qualifications
• Reliable, meticulous, and hard working;
• Independent, resourceful, and self-motivated;
• Humble, transparent, and team first;
• Hands-on expertise in routine lab techniques (PCR, western
blotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, etc.), and in-depth understanding of their
fundamental mechanism;
• Quantitative understanding of thermodynamics, binding and
kinetics, and statistics a plus;
• Hands-on expertise in directed evolution technologies (yeast
display, SELEX, etc.) a plus;
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or Bachelor’s degree
with equivalent research experience
