所有用户（注册、非注册、未登录）均可以浏览、搜索网站信息。但注册用户有以下

我看到了网上很多说 http://www.dedicatednow.com/ 不错, 昨天晚上订了一个, 不过还没有切身体验, 我以前都用COLLOCATION. 现在看到很多dedicated server配置也很好了, 所以新的改用dedicated server了.

我感觉，colocation可能自己需要太多的维护硬件。而vps来讲，就没有这个问题。

VPS很鸡肋
我短暂用过一阵子，就用dedicated server了
self-managed的dedicated server 100/mo绝对可以有很多选择
比稍微好一点点的VPS最多最多贵30，40块钱
另外，对于dedicated server，例如serverbeach这样的，最好打电话去问问，一般会谈一个比网上价格好些的价格

I do not like VPS too. I used VPS for 1 month at the very beginning then
changed to dedicated server, later to collocation, now back to dedicated
server.

I have two collocation servers. I have never spend anytime on hardware
maintenance. I put them there and forgotten them, never have problem.

I did only once. I called them. They helped me pressed the start button. A
matter of 15 minutes. My host provider can have 2 free reboot per month.
Advanced server have this feature, but I only purchased 1k-2k$ server. Too
cheap to have such function.

是啊，有时候就是觉得折腾折腾的，怕把系统文件给弄乱了，所以有时候reload一下重
新开始感觉也挺好，不折腾几回，怎么会学会东西呢？
目前我的服务器是用apache runs PHP, cgi等脚本文件，用lighttpd 跑静态文件如
pictures, html. 感觉这样比单纯用apache要快，但是感觉没有单独用lighttpd快。

用scp啊，非常简单，一个命令就上传所有东西，还安全。

我通常下载putty.exe 和 pscp.exe放到Windows folder里面。分别改名成ssh.exe和sc
p.exe
每次想上载东西,就用命令行
scp -r * r**[email protected]:/directory/folder

hehe, you either put them in a folder which you have defined your "PATH" wit
hin, or put them into C:\Windows (which is already definied in your "PATH"),
this way you always have access to these files

Also, to use ftp, you will need to install the ftp service in linux. If you
have SSH, you can always use sftp. For sftp, I like filezilla better than
winscp

我用的是windows的ssh secure shell client. 就和telnet一样，集成了ssh+sftp。
5MB. 属于傻瓜用途的，呵呵。现在在ssh communcation公司可能找不到了。
如果有人感兴趣，我可以放到网上让大家下载.

You can use filezilla for sftp. So basically no difference to you operation-

Just tried the KVM over IP feature of the DedicatedNow.com server, seem like
you can power on/off the server remotely, map a CD-Rom to local drive, with
this I believe you can hard start/stop the server or reinstall OS by
yourself.

VNC必须你的服务器是可以访问的情况下，才能使用。
如果你的服务器ping不了，就没办法了。
但是kvm over ip好像没有这个问题。

I heard that the network and hardware of 1and1 is not bad. Only the customer
service is not good. If one is in stable condition, customer services is
not that important. The best thing about 1and1 is the price -- one of the
lowest in the industry. So it is a balance. Overall not a bad deal to use
them.
