IB里面的每个analyst issue的 forecast 都会被收到IBES里面去吗? 还是junior
analysts work for lead analysts. junior 的forecasts 让lead analysts 看过后在
lead analysts 名下发表?

A public company, for example, AAPL (Apple) will be covered by one lead
analyst and his or her junior analysts or associates. So there is only one
set of estimates on AAPL from that IB - of course the lead analyst takes the
responsibility of estimates, but whether he or she actually does the work
is a different story. Does this answer your question?

in some cases, i've seen two analysts from the same brokerage covering one
firm, not sure if it's data entry error or what

btw, there are many problems with IBES now.
many systematic data problem.
i love it coz i hate IBES and never use it.

一般来说, junior 需要多少年可以做到 lead analyst? 要知道这些, 应该去哪里查啊?

哦，这个很难说了。要看各人的能力，机会。没处查去。如果机会好，又有水平，
应该比较快。尤其是现在 sell side 走的人很多，空出来的位置还是很多，比较容易
被提升。但是真的要看个人，看个例。

谢谢回答. 那你估计一下这个range吗? 快的三年, 慢的7-8年, 平均5年?

快的不用三年。慢的永远也做不到 - 不是所有人都能够当 lead analyst. 平均可能
要低于五年。当然，就像我以前说的，都是看个案 - 如果是 MBA 毕业，当然一般比
undergrad 升得快；另外跟公司空缺有关系，跟公司本身也有关系，比如一个大银行的
associate 换去一个小一些的银行，可能升得快。。。还有跟股票有关系，一般来
讲，如果 cover 很小的股票（流动性低，市值低，等等）, 可能升得快。以上只是
我的看法。
