A multi-billion dollar diversified global manufacturer that produces and
sells products and solutions in the aerospace market is looking for a
Marketing Director to fill a highly-visible and critical position in their
largest business unit. Reporting to the General Manager you will be part of
the senior staff and provide leadership, direction and growth strategies.
This position will require you to focus in three key areas of responsibility
; developing strategic growth plans and strategies, building customer
relationships and capture strategies and developing and implementing lean
proposal response processes. You will accomplish this by identifying key
market growth sectors, developing new products and market opportunities,
leading inorganic growth as well as potential acquisitions call on and sell
current and prospective customers, develop solutions for new or projected
projects, interpret technical and product needs of customers and lead,
formalize and simplify the proposal process and respond to RFP’s/RFI’s in
a consistent and timely manner.
As the marketing and business development expert; the additional
responsibilities include assessing, analyzing and understanding the market
with regard to pricing, trends, positioning and competition and calling on
customers directly and responding to their proposal requests. As a member of
the senior staff, you will be part of a “Board of Directors” decision-
making and strategy team and have key oversight responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
and an MBA with 10+ years’ experience in aerospace flight controls with at
least 7 years leading projects and teams of considerable complexity. You
will be adept at working in a customer-facing position and functioning as a
key member of a senior decision-making team. Excellent interpersonal,
leadership and relationship-building skills are required in this highly-
decentralized, matrixed environment. This is an outstanding growth
opportunity with an industry leader. Up to 40% global travel is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or marketing. MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in the aerospace industry.
• Demonstrated success in market development, new product development
and business development.
• Experience with identification and acquisition of companies.
• Supervisory experience required.
SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to identify new opportunities and translate them into
customer solutions.
• Strong analytical skills.
