刚才顺手在翻牡丹亭，发现主要的译本有三个，一个是美国人Cyril Birch的，另一个是大陆汪榕培老师的，还有一个是张光前的。我觉得他的们翻译都不是很到位，自己试着翻了一小段：
原文：原来姹紫嫣红开遍，似这般都付与断井颓垣，良辰美景奈何天，便赏心乐事谁家院。朝飞暮卷， 云霞翠轩，雨丝风片， 烟波画船，锦屏人忒看的这韶光贱。
译文:
Alas! Violet and scarlet, deep and bright,
Only to bring dry well and crumbling wall into sight.
A detached and lone heart, in a moment so light.
In whose garden can there be anything of delight?
Drifting at dawn, lingering near night,
A cloudy pergola is like in green dye,
The silky rain, the fluffy wind, to slide
A painted boat on the mist of waters. Sigh!
How easy the spring is in a young lady’s eyes.
三个翻译的第一段：
张光前：So the garden is all abloom in pink and red, yet all abandoned to
dry wells and crumbling walls. The best of seasons won’t forever last, can
any household claim undying joy?
汪榕培：The flowers glitter in the air, Around the wells and walls deserted
here and there, Who is the “pleasant day and pretty night”? Who can enjoy
“contentment and delight”?
Birch：See how deepest purple, brightest scarlet, Open their beauty only to
dry well crumbing. “Bright the moon, lovely the scene,” listless and lost
the heart ---where is the garden “gay with joyous cries”?
