Coke deposited on FCC catalyst is burned off during the regeneration process
. My question is during the industry process, is it realistic to convert all
the coked carbon to CO2 (complete combustion)? If it is partial combustion,
what is the ratio of the CO/CO2 formation (to what extent carbon is
converted to CO and CO2, respectively), roughly speaking? Many thanks!

FCC can have two modes, full burn and partial burn. With full burn mode it
is possible to burn most coke to CO2, some coke cannot burned off and is
called CRC (coke on regenerated catalyst). Some FCC has two stages of
regeneration, first burns the coke to CO, then burn CO to CO2. With partial
burn, CO2/CO ratio is usually around 2-3.

Thanks a lot for your detailed professional answers! A couple of follow-up
questions:
(1) could you please let me know the common CRC content (i.e., the remaining
coke content on regenerated catalyst) in industrial process?
(2) Is it realistic to burn off all of the coke, i.e., to make CRC content
zero?
