我OPT最开始是挂靠在一个小的consulting公司A，然后在另外一家公司B里面做
Contractor（通过A公司联系的，而且payroll也是从A公司走）,后来OPT的extention也
是在A公司办的，今年年初因为contractor的项目做完了，所以就和consulting公司A解
除了挂靠关系(A公司发过来一个辞职信，然后我签名后寄给了他们）,一个半月后公司B
里面因为又有一个新的项目于是又开始做contractor，这次是通过另外一个consulting
公司C（payroll是从C公司走的）,当时因为紧急所以忘记和学校的
international office更新OPT status了，而且最近发现公司C没有加入E-verify。
现在我的问题是，我的身份是不是已经失效了？有什么补救措施吗？如果我现在让公司
C加入E-verify能补救吗？公司C也提出可以帮我办H1B,这样是不是补救的更好？
不好意思，新注册的ID还不能发言，只好先用朋友的ID。先谢谢大家。

大家帮忙给点意见吧，只有一周考虑了，小弟真心的感谢各位了
A, 95k base,35k sign-on分两年给,45k RSU分四年给, 在AWS，做的东西比较感兴趣，
感觉也比较有前途。顾虑是还没on call工作强度就已经非常高了，on call那天可能还
得熬夜到很晚，怕受不了。。但是这样的工作对新人提高应该很大，不知道工作成就感
能不能盖过压力
M, 95k base, 50k RSU分五年给, 算上bonus每年估计和A拿到的差不多，但是福利比A
好太多。优点就是工作相对轻松很多，缺点是感觉未来不甚明朗，没有A这种蒸蒸日上
的感觉，做的东西兴趣一般，应该也就是个可有可无的螺丝钉，可能和很多人说的进去
养老的感觉差不多。。
Z, 还没拿到，onsite完两天内就要做决定所以就先来问了。听说工资不是很给力，只
是还没上市，算个小诱惑。个人对游戏很有兴趣，但听说他家工作强度比A还高，完全
没有work/life balance。。不知道大家对他家看法如何。
个人而言，最关心的因素应该是以后的职业发展问题，对跳槽最有帮助的是不是A? 稍
微累一点没关系，关键是自己也要enjoy工作，而且看得到未来。钱嘛差别不太大所以
可以几乎不考虑。另外，工作到30岁左右想回国，不知道哪家对回国会有帮助一些？

Talk to the DSO at your school, make sure that
they update your OPT employment record immediately.
If you haven't told them that you left A and now
work at C, your SEVIS record should still show
you in valid F-1/OPT status, and I think it should
not be difficult to update the change of employer.
However, if you told them earlier this year that
you left A and forgot to tell them you found a new
job with C, you may be out of status since SEVIS
would flag you as unemployed during OPT.
The E-Verify issue only matters if you need the
17-month STEM OPT extension, and the employer needs
to be part of E-Verify when you apply to your school
for the 17-month STEM OPT extension.

Thank you so much for your prompt response.
I did not tell the DSO that I already left A at the beginning of the year,
so my understanding based on what you said in the first paragraph is, I am
still in the valid F1/OPT status. Is it that correct？
Also I get confused by what you said in the second paragraph: so you were
saying even Company C is not in the E-verify system and I am still in the
VALID OPT-extension period, it is LEGAL to work for Company C, right?

cs这个industry目前码工的缺口还有1，2万，所以基本卖方市场。公司之间互相竞价，
工资水涨船高

You should still be in status; check with your
school. You didn't say that you are already
in the STEM OPT extension period. That being
the case, talk to your school official to find
out whether working for C has put you in trouble.

呵呵，我们这一个国内本科毕业过来的小姑娘，读了以一年cs的ms毕业去了微软，起薪
8万，23岁的小姑娘啊。学化学的悲催啊，我觉得从我入学的那一天起，就注定是loser
了。

Thanks for your clarification.
I have another question: since I already signed a resignation letter when I
left company A upon their request, does USCIS get any chance to know that I
do not work for company A any more (company A might report it to USCIS??)? I
did not tell DSO at my school that I left company A, is it any chance the
DSO office will know the fact that I left company A through USCIS system?
Sorry if this question sounds tricky or silly, but I do have this concern
before I call the DSO office next Monday.

The only thing that matters is what your SEVIS
record shows, and the only way to find out is
to talk to the designated school official at
your school.
