depends on field and journal. do you have a sense of their average
turnaround time? i normally wait for 4 or 6 months depending on the journal.
usually it shouldn't affect the outcome.

你是说如果催稿的话，会对录用结果有不利影响吗？
看这个杂志已经发表的文章，turnaround time差别非常大，快的三个月就已经修回了
，最慢的有一年才修回的，平均大概五个月左右修回吧
但是这个时间是修改稿投回去的时间，一审review出来的时间应该比这个短多了吧？

除非你有比较正式的理由，比如你要评tenure，你可以催一催。三个月不长吧，我一般
投了就不管了，除非一年没消息

还是审稿时间越短，越容易被拒呢？

that's usually not a factor. sometimes the delay is caused by a particular
reviewer (just not doing his/her job). sometimes there is a conflict between
two reviewers and the editor needs to find a third one, which causes a lot
of delay.

最近两篇文章都是投稿6-7各月都没信儿，催了一下，两个星期后都有了结果，一个大
改，一个小改，修改稿交后，又等了约4各月，实在等不及了，又催了一下，心惊胆战
之后终于等来的都是好消息。感觉no news is good news。昨天受到另一篇文章的拒信
，离递交才区区的两个月。
