I was told to give them a range, like from 55k to 65k. I don't know if it is
reasonalbe for PHD in transportation. I plan to give 50k to 55k, I am only
master.

If you're not sure just tell them you want the prevailing salary/benefit of
that kind of position, usually they'll give you the low limit of that class,
then you ask $3000/y more, which would be within their expection and get ap
proved.

I am not sure, a indian phd here just got 60k or 65k in seattle with
relocaion packages. A American girl here(master) got 55k. So that's why I am
aiming for 50k to 55k.
