I started making feltcakes as a hobby about one year ago when my friend sent
me a PDF of a felt cake craft
book. Since I needed to work back then, I wasn't able to make a lot of cakes
back then.

then my wedding was approaching, then I decided to use what I learned from
the feltcake making experience
to make a one of its kind wedding feltcake.

these are the felt cut outs for the entire cake. The cake has 3 tiers, and 6
slices per tier, so a total of 18
wedges.
I used a different fleece like material for the white part of the cake. it's
softer and I got it from Michael's.

then I need to decorate the exterior of the cake. I hand stitched a quilt
pattern, and attached peals
alternatively on the quilt.

then it's the real time consuming part. (took me really long time)
I have to come up 18 different memorable incidents with their dates and hand
embroidered them on the
yellows (insides) of the cake.
I used a washable ink pen to write on the fabric, did the embroidery, and
then use a wet tissue to remove the
ink.
I tried to stitch a red heart onto each piece wherever I can, this is really
the love story between us!

then, I need to make use of some stiffer cardboard to give the cakes some
structure.
I used USPS priority boxes (free from post office!)
I stuff them into the cakes, and then stuff cotton inside, then stitch the
bottoms of the cakes up.

I also need to make a cake tray to hold up the 3 tiers of cake.
so to fill the spaces between each tier, I wanted to use some white silk
roses. I made 24 silk roses in total.

then I will also need a cake topper for the cake.
Mooses are the nickname for me and my hubby (I call myself Moo-moo and my
hubby Wah-mu, and you can

I drew roughly what i want my mooses to look like, and then cut out the felt
pieces.
These mooses are harder to make than the cake because they are really tiny,
about 3 inches in height. The
dress and tux are even harder to make. I also added swarovski crystals to
the brides for

haha I have a lot, I mean, A LOT of special DIY projects...
but if I have to pick one and only one, I will pick this wedding cake
because this project is not only the most
time consuming, it's also the most meaningful between me and my hubby...
and I fully documented this project from beginning to end, so that's why I
can come up with a detailed step by
step progress for this post!
I hope all of you will like it^^

I guess that's my first anniversary present for my hubby~~
I am a persistent person I guess, if not I may have give up halfway, heehee!

haha,
this cake is just complicated in terms of the thoughts behind it....
sometime i wish my hubby has a pair of delicate hands, I would love his
manly creations too!
but somehow, he doesnt have a pair of skillful hands...
haha!
