大侠们请了,
俺正打算趁暑假时学一些数据库方面的知识，也想考Oracle的DBA认证，听说
这个系列(5门吧)挺难，但俺想因为难也许通过的人不多，应该还有些价值。朋友
推荐了Oracle University的教材，请问是否对口啊？呵呵
另外，俺还想问一下，是不是工业界里Oracle的系统大都建在Unix系统上？
那是不是考个Solaris的认证比较成体系一点？俺听说Solaris有两级？
眼见工作不好找，着急自己学点东西，可对这行不太了解，还请大侠们指点
一二，呵呵，或者给个网站介绍一下这些情况也好，多谢多谢

not very hard. Anyone with a will to pass will pass.
And don't think it is valuable at all.
MCDBA would be better.
Or, SCJD (although it's also a barbage, it can fool those management fools)

It's better off to spend the time spent in finding a temporary work rather
than in study of certificates

That's right, experience is more important than certifications.
The reason I took certifications is just because I am too lazy to study
anything new so I have to register the test and then I can finish a book in
one week which I can't finish in one year normally.
When I go to interview, nobody look at my certifications (even I have ocp dba
7.3, 8, 8i, now I have 9i, developer 2000, 6i, solaris scsa 7, 8, scna 8),
they only care what kind of projects I have done.

You guys are right. But the big question is: how to practice in projects?
And another question comes out: where to find projects to do since I am
supposed to learn DBA by my own and what a project should be like to match the
need of jobhunting? Thanks. //bow

sometimes, you have to make some fake experience. :-(
I don't think you can apply for DBA at this level. First try some database
developer positions.

DBA job is kind of lame, i mean it is more of interpersonal skill than a
technical position. if u r not that type of person, a development position
would fit u better.

agree, DBA 的日产工作基本上是简单的重复劳动, 得学会怎么拖欠
人家的要求, 人家却还感恩带德 :P

If you spend the time on the exam, you surely can get a certificate,
but if spend on looking for work, most likely get nothing,
so try the exam.

basically it's useless for your jobhunting as long as you have really woring
experience. Thta's what I am feeling
The exam is pretty easy. If you want pass it, you can pass it.
