There are more developer positions than DBA.
while developer positions starts from 32k here. DBA position starts from 50k.
average developer is around 60k here, while DBA is about 70k+.
that's why I said DBA holds a little higher salary, usually.

without being laid off right after, and think it is "regular", I have

generally, DBA does not require any certification at all. all the
requirement is an associate level degree and many years of experience.

我不是闭门造车看了几篇文章就信口胡说的。
我两者都找过。都从入门开始看。平均junior developer是40k, junior DBA是50k.
后来我也找过senior, 平均developer 65k, DBA是75k.
这就是我为什么说DBA比同档次的developer要高半级。
原理很简单，developer position太多，公司里面多你一个不多，少你一个不少。
而DBA是mission critical的职位，关系到公司正常运转维护和SLA，出了问题动辄
会让公司损失数十万上百万。而这样的职位又相对少的多，公司数据库核心掌握在
少数1-2个DBA手里，所以一个称职的DBA公司会愿意千方百计保留，愿意花大价钱。
我所说的，都是大公司专职DBA。你如果认为小公司那些既是developer又是DBA的
也能叫DBA的话....呵呵。
奉劝立志当DBA的人胸，要想当好DBA, 当那种公司要求你留下来可以不惜代价的DBA,
专职DBA都用不上的地方就不要去了。

当然DBA！不过压力很大。。。特别是女DBA

我觉得还是不一定吧。 DBA固然很重要，但是要搭起好的数据库结构还是需要很多的经
验，要是数据库本身不好维护再好也没用。还有我不知道你在哪里，好像你说的薪水有
点低。我们小公司在中南部senior的 db developer都有１０万左右或是
以上吧。

要想成为一个好的DBA，需要精通很多知识的。当然也有那种一般水平的dba,就是在一
个很稳定的系统上面做做备份，分配一下用户。当数据库出问题的时候，dba水平的高
低就体现出来了。推荐大家看看eygle或者tom kyte的文章吧。

depends on how do you define senior and if that person is H1/GC/CITI.
For my exp, senior DB developer is not the highest position. There are
