I always recommend one book for SQL Server 2005 DBA. It is "Microsoft SQL
Server 2005 Administrator's Companion". After you read this books several
times and understand a little bit, you can answer these questions quite well

你说的不错。不过那本书不怎么讲scripting,工具来工具去，俄不中！好多功能GUI都
木得！比如：我要看现在一个语句运行了2小时，现在执行到百分之几了，咋整？
尤其在紧急情况下，还是scripting 解决战斗！比如说server 木得内存了，外面又
连不上了，得用DAC,这个时候就靠scripting 了！
工具是迫击炮，scripting 是步兵！

Hehe, I totally agree. I'm a scripting guy, too. :)
The reason why I like this book is: it explains some basic concepts very
detail and clearly.
And there are some good scenarios/examples you can apply to the job.
