Somebody appreciates something
or
something will be appreciated.
例如：I would appreciate it very much if you can come
or Any advice will be appreciated.
但我朋友说可以用 I will be very appreciated if you could help me.

单纯的dba路子越来越窄，作为data professioal也要与时俱进；云计算目前看挤压
system admin更厉害些；

My understanding till today: NOSQL is just a special purpose database (or
data model), it cannot replace traditional general purpose RDBMS. It has
little impact on DBA’s career.
Cloud computing provides additional choices for a company for its IT
infrastructure. Basically three choices: traditional in-house IT；
outsource IT totally ( i.e. to public cloud provider, pay-per-use );
consolidating in house IT infrastructure on private cloud; or maybe the
fourth choice, some kind of mixing of all above. I think the demanding for
DBA role (or system admin, network, storage admin in this regard) will be
reduced when a company move part (or all) of its IT to cloud (either public
or private).
Demanding for traditional DBA role is not only being affected by emerging of
cloud computing. It has been affected by more and more self-managing and
automation of RDBMS anyway ( Or in USA that role is being outsourced to
India and China etc)
Obviously if there is a trend to move to cloud with significance, there will
be a demanding for “cloud system/support administrator” It should not so
difficult for a true DBA ( means he is always willing to learn new things)
to transition his role to a cloud administrator. If you are a DBA now,
learning some storage, network, application architecture should be
considered

I just did a search on dice.com
the keyword useds and the number of results are as follows
1. System administrator 5741
2. DBA 2814
3. Oracle DBA 1567
4. Cloud Administrator 282
5. Cloud DBA 74
I looked quickly some job description of case 4; looks to me very much like
a system administrator's skill
I looked one job description in case 5 http://seeker.dice.com/jobsearch/servlet/JobSearch?op=302&dockey=xml/4/e/[email protected]&source=19&FREE_TEXT=Cloud+DBA&rating=99 Nothing more than a typical DBA job sill set.
It looks to me a SA or DBA can use same skill set whether he works for an in
-house IT department or a cloud provider.
It will be instereting if someone can write an automatic program to search
this keyword every month and save the result to a database, then analyse the
trend after 1 year 5 year etc. Then we really can answer the question.
Anyone know how to do that?

understand what the relationship between OLTP and Cloud Computing supposed
to be. They seem to me two different things - one is a database application
type, one is a platform
500000/24/3600 = 6 records/second. Not sure what the definition of "记录 "I
have an OLTP about 200 transactions/sec during peak time.

Below are two resources about Cloud I find interesting:
1. “The tech jobs that the cloud will eliminate” ( http://www.infoworld.com/d/adventures-in-it/tech-jobs-cloud-will-eliminate-008 ). 2. There is also a two-part article describing Cloud IT roles here: http://open.eucalyptus.com/learn/cloud-it-roles. It indicated a DBA’s skill-set is extendable to assume Cloud Data Architect role.
NoSQL is just a special purpose data model, just like relational data model,
object data model, it may be most suitable on Cloud platform. But
traditional RDBMS will be the majority, it does not matter it run on clould
or not. NoSQL cannot replace RDBMS at all.
Clould Computing != NoSQL.
