well.. check out XAML example first. When you are familiar with XAML,
silverlight become a lot easier.

You don't have to use Orcas, but it's recommended. Worst comes to worst,
you can always use notepad :). You don't compile silverlight, as least not
for the Feb 2006 CTP.
Silverlight 1.0 beta 1 just came out last week, so did silverlight 1.1 alpha.
For links, I was using Feb 2006 CTP. It seems that there are several new
things coming out with the beta version. I have not looked into it yet.
However, like i said, play with XAML/WPF first. MSDN has several good links
on how to start WPF proj
