Having used C# for a while now, but haven't yet bought a single
C# book. Could anyone recommend a C# book that would be as classical
as Lippman's 'C++ Primer'.

这样的经典还没有出现.不过有几个可以作为候选的:
INSIDE C# from M$Press
Programming C# from Ori..

introduction:
I used:
Mastering C#
(Jason price and mike gunderloy)===it is a good book, but the book is assume
you don't know anything about programming, so it is a little annoying, but the
examples in the book are easy to run, so you can get what you want without
being overwhelmed too much.
I like "Inside C#" very much, this book explains the language in very
technical way, and also very clear, easy to understand
