I have same kind of director for big group too, did I mention it took
us 1 hour to tell him there's global variable in the world, since he
only knows java.

well, many sites are using it, maybe some website will show higher
percentage websites using php than asp, simply because industry machines
will use other stuff but hidden by load balance, when personal user
more like to use php or other free stuff... also web traffic is impossible
to be counted by those websites....

only if your boss is that dumb. technology migration has far more
implications than who's better than who.

but if you guys have invested heavily in terms of resources into PHP,
probably your boss won't make the effort to do it due to extra costs
involved. if there are new feature/requirement coming, a compromise
like mixing the old and the new seems more plausible to me.

hehe. PHP is good for cross platform quick and dirty implementation.
There are tons of source code there you can "reuse". :)
It's not necessary for your company to do that kind of transfer if your
clients are small and requirements are simple. 你可以说服你老板做mix
solution.就是不动原来的那些玩意，新的part用ASP .net呀。
不过你们client有一堆UNIX机器，你就forget ASP .Net吧。Mono的ASP .Net还不敢说一
定达到product水平了。
要我是老板，我敢用mono的ASP .Net.大不了自己fix那些不成熟的part呗。
但我想大部分老板都不会用吧。人家可不想做这些fix.都是希望现成，经过验证的soluti
on.呵呵。
